About

Hi, I’m Carly Cermak (pronounced “Chermak”). I have been a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) since 2011. I obtained my PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Toronto in 2021 and my Masters of Clinical Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Western University in 2011. I am registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario and I am nationally certified with Speech-Language & Audiology Canada.

I started my career as an SLP working with the Simcoe County Preschool Speech and Language Program where I became passionate about early intervention and empowering parents to be their child’s communication coach. When I moved to Toronto to pursue my PhD, I worked as an SLP on the brain injury rehabilitation team at Holland Bloorview. Concurrent to my clinical role, I conducted research on language and cognitive communication outcomes after early childhood traumatic brain injury. Today you can find me working on the communication, learning, and behaviour team at Holland Bloorview. In this role I conduct assessments and consultation services for children with social communication and language difficulties.
